The most important element of our energy and finance activities is our work with international finance institutions. We help IFIs to develop, implement and monitor targeted financial products, such as credit lines for investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency. MACS advise local banks on how to assess the viability of RE/EE investments by properly evaluating underlying energy potentials and technical designs, and adequately appraising potential risk factors before offering loans.

Our energy and finance department comprises both engineering and financial expertise. It is headed by a senior energy process engineer, who is supported by specialist engineers and experienced economists. Our interdisciplinary know-how ensures that sound financial and economic reasoning form the foundation of all the advice we give.

MACS’ experts have developed the online tool ‘eSaveTM’ which facilitates validation and reporting of standard and non-standard RE/EE loans, allowing banks to combine complicated savings-calculations with intelligent financing mechanisms.
