COLOMBIA - GIZ NAMA SUPPORT PROJECT – domestic refrigeration sector
MACS’ experts have been engaged by GIZ to conceptualize the financial component of the Domestic Refrigeration NAMA support project (NSP). The overall goal of the NSP is improved energy efficiency and GWP decrease. Embedded in a strong technical assistance package, the financial component will focus on the creation of a Trust Fund to provide financial incentives (co-financing) for the conversion of production lines and the replacement of the old fridges.
Project sponsor is the NAMA Facility, which is a joint effort from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Danish Ministry for Energy, Utilities and Climate (EFKM), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the European Commission.
The NAMA Facility supports developing countries and emerging economies that show leadership on tackling climate change and that want to implement ambitious climate protection measures with Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs).
