In mid-November, the international community and the key players from all over the world gathered in Brussels with the aim to share the ideas and positive experiences and to discuss how to overcome the obstacles. The experts from GIZ, USAID, OECD, Funds for Goods, UNEP, UNPD and many other shared their rich experiences from the field and opened the discussions in which all the visitors could take part.
The Coupling of private and public finance, also known as “blended finance” is the new concept and the next crucial step towards obtaining results and reaching the targets imposed by SDGs, one that will show its huge importance in the upcoming years, together with the synergy among the different goals. Impact investing has been defined as a function of risk and return, but at the same time the conference recognized its enormous potential in contributing to the achievement of the SDGs globally.
