With a commitment to improving the income and quality of life of the rural population, the state government of Piauí has started the implementation of the "Integrated Water Security Project" through food and nutritional security, regular access to water, environmentally sustainable productive growth and resilience to climate change in the semi-arid region of Piauí.
The Project for the "Environmental Sustainability and Socio-Productive Development of the Piauí and Canindé Rivers Basin", also known as the "Sustainable and Inclusive Piauí" (PSI) is funded via Loan Agreement between the Government of the State of Piauí, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
In 2022, MACS took part in the PSI planning activities at the invitation of the IDB, and in March 2024, we were invited to participate in the Program's kick-off workshop in the city of Teresina, the capital of the State of Piauí, Brazil.
